 Board Games Night
Every two weeks there is a board games night organised by the Fachschaft. That evening, all game-addicted students meet in the KOM-Raum. Quite often these evenings last until late at night and they tend to be very funny. To satisfy the hunger of the players, Pizza is ordered during the evening. |
 Breakfast
Each thursday, from 7:45 to 10:00 there is a breakfast in the KOM-Raum. Buns are sold at purchase price, the Fachschaft offers jams, milk, coffee, tea, etc. for free. Lists for ordering buns can be found in front of the Fachschaft's office. |
 Fachschaft on Tour
Together with the Graduate School the Fachschaft regularly organises trips to lots of different interesting events and sites in the vicinity, such as: Holidaypark Haßloch, Sport events, museums and christmas markets. |
International Christmas Party
The christmas party takes place, as the name suggests, shortly before christmas in the Kramladen. This event is organised especially for our international fellow students. It takes place in a cosy atmosphere with hot spiced wine, candies and nuts (sometimes there are even waffles). In addition there is live christmas music and later in the evening Santa Claus will pass by. You will often meet professors and other members of the staff at this party. |
 Introductory Weeks (E-Wochen)
At the beginning of each semester, the Fachschaft organises the introductory weeks ("E-Wochen"), which last about a month, to make the start of your studies easier. In parallel to the math prep course, where future math students are prepared for their first lectures, the Fachschaft organises the tutorials and some entertaining and informative events. City Rallye, Old Town Pub Tour, Eating Out By Preference, etc... offer many occasions to get to know the city and your fellow students. |
Lecture Series
The lecture series takes place during the summer term and consists of a series of lectures held by professors of our department. The idea of this event is that students get to know better the fields of study of their professors. After the lecture the students can ask questions over coffee and cake. |
Mathematicians at work (MiB = Mathematiker im Beruf)
MiB is organised by the Fachschaft usually once a term. At this event we invite someone who has studied math at Kaiserlautern to talk about his experiences in professional life. Afterwards students are offered the opportunity to ask questions. |
Math Party (Mathefete)
The Math Party is a party which is organised by the FS once a year during the summer term. It takes place in the Kramladen and thus tends to be a little bit smaller than the partys of other departments. At the Math Party there are always cocktails, wine, beer and barbecue and as the highlight of the evening: Our Men's ballet. We are always looking for help to organise the Math Party ( in particular the ballet), so give us a call! |
Teacher's coffee break
Our teacher's representative organises this meeting in the KOM-Raum. All students which study to become teachers can meet here, to chat over some coffee and cake, get information on their studies and answers to their questions. |
